A composer, producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and student of classical and jazz, Kahn worked a soulful pocket on many a seminal side with Nick Gravenites, Brewer & Shipley, Merl Saunders, and Maria Muldaur, to cite a select few.

Fans of the classic double-live slab The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper (1969) will note John’s bass solo on “Her Holy Modal Highness.”
